What is Hospice?

Hospice care is  a special concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to the patient and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments.

Hospice is designed to help reduce both the physical pain and emotional suffering of patients during their final stages of illness. Contrary to what many people think, hospice is not a physical place. It is a service that comes to wherever people live, whether that’s a hospital, an assisted living facility or a home.
